Position Overview: We are seeking two (2) motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Officer Interns with a focus on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in environmental impact analysis, spatial data management, and the application of GIS in environmental projects. Key Responsibilities: Data Collection: Assist in collecting environmental and spatial data through field surveys, sampling, and monitoring activities. GIS Mapping: Support the creation and maintenance of GIS maps to visualize environmental data and project impacts. Environmental Assessments: Participate in conducting Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and preparing related reports. Spatial Analysis: Use GIS tools to analyze spatial data and assess environmental impacts. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of environmental and spatial data and activities. Support Project Teams: Provide support to project teams in implementing environmental impact mitigation measures and GIS applications. Training and Workshops: Assist in organizing and conducting training sessions and workshops on environmental best practices and GIS applications. Sustainability Initiatives: Support the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives and projects. Qualifications: Recently completed a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geography, or a related field. Strong interest in environmental assessment, GIS, and spatial analysis. Basic knowledge of environmental assessment methodologies and GIS tools. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to sustainable development and environmental stewardship.
